Dr. John A. Kirby

Meet Dr. John A. Kirby, the experienced and friendly doctor who makes Modern Eye Gallery the leading provider of vision care products and services in Mount Juliet.

Dr. Kirby worked in west TN a short time after graduating optometry school before moving to Mount Juliet TN in 2009. After working in a few offices in and around Mount Juliet, he opened Modern Eye Gallery in 2015.

Dr. Kirby loves being a part of the Mount Juliet community. Dr. Kirby is also active in the Mount Juliet Breakfast Rotary Club and has served as president and treasurer with the club. He has also been on several international optometric mission trips, providing eyecare and glasses to patients in Mexico, El Salvador, Jamaica, Costa Rica, and Belize. The past two summers he traveled to San Quintin, Baja California (Mexico) where he attended 40-70 patients a day! Modern Eye Gallery accepts used glasses and sunglasses to be donated toward these mission trips.

Dr. Kirby is married to Amy Kirby and they have just welcomed their baby girl, Jonah Noelle, in August of 2019. They are active members of College Hills Church of Christ in Lebanon, TN. Together he and Amy also have two cats, Garin and Flora. Dr. Kirby enjoys church, golf, travel, playing guitar, writing songs, and attending concerts. Dr. Kirby is originally from Gainesboro, TN but has spent the majority of his life in Wilson County, TN.
